Warm nose is a symptom of an illness.
It is one of the most widespread myths, which gives owners and vets a lot of troubles. Who from skilled dog breeders was not awakened early in the morning by the scream of puppy’s owner: “My dog has a warm nose. What should I do?!!” The answer is simple: you should not do anything. If your dog has a warm nose, the odds are that it simply slept. In the sleep the temperature of a nose rises.
However, if dog’s nose is not only warm, but dry as well, if it is scurfy or if these phenomena are accompanied by behavior deviations of a dog (it does not eat, it does not run, etc.) – call the veterinary surgeon.
Puppies and health
Once in its life she-dog needs coupling “for health”. This myth is not so popular, as the previous one, but many owners of dogs seriously complicate their life, accepting this myth as a blueprint for action. Tired owners, an exhausted dog, and badly grown up puppies, that are impossible to sell is a result of it, as a rule.
According to veterinary surgeons and skilled dog’s owners, presence of puppies even statistically does not guarantee safety of your pet’s health. Practice shows that breeders have the same illnesses and are down with them with the same frequency, as those dogs which did not have puppies at all.
Moreover, some experts think that such dogs which had puppies once, become down with different illnesses more frequently. This is because first pregnancy causes hormonal misbalance and its deep reorganization. If your dog was not in pup from that time, “activated” hormones can lead to problems with health.
The same concerns male dogs. Many owners bring their dogs for mating once, because they think, that it will calm them down. Sometimes the dog really calms down, but every other month it goes out of mind, slips a leash and tries to escape. At the same time, those dogs, which were not coupled, calm down with the years and lose sexual attraction to she-dogs. This is quite physiological, because in the wild nature not every dog can do this, but only the strongest.
Myth about dog’s chromatopseudopsia is harmless. Actually, it was supported by scientists during a long time. But now researchers say that dogs discern colors but not so well as the people. This can also be confirmed by everyday observations.
Pets are not just “alive” beings that live with us, pet are a lot more important. And you are really responsible for them. Those of you who have dogs, should know info about dog health. This is not a bizarre statement, this is what your pet really needs from you.
