A good basis would be to opt for a cage that allows your dog plenty of room to stretch, lounge and turn around while inside it. Another thing that can potentially cause harm to your pet would be the locking mechanism, which should be carefully inspected for safety. Once you’ve purchased your cage, there are a few other things to consider. You can make a nice, homey place for your dog by including a soft dog bed or some of his favorite toys.
These will allow your dog to get used to the idea of using the crate and will make it feel more like a safe place to rest. You can also use treats sparingly to entice your pet to investigate its new cage; this practice should help your dog be more willing to spend time inside.
