Implementing the best dog training advice – dog training secrets into a pet’s daily routine, results in them being well behaved. Owners should be consistent and stick with a program to achieve the best outcome. Be sure to remain strict, but not harsh as an animal will not react well to being yelled at and scolded.

Canines suffer from several annoying bad habits. The problems cause a lot of conflict and turmoil in the household and make the their owners miserable as well. The only way to deal with such issues is to train the animal to act properly.

All canines bark, but for some it is excessive. A constantly yelping animal will annoy everyone within close vicinity. The first step in fixing the issue is to figure out why the pet is behaving so badly.

Most canines bark continuously when they are feeling bored and do not have enough stimulation. This is remedied by teaching them to adhere to a consistent daily schedule. Take them for a walk at least twice a day. This gives them something to do and trains them to behave better. In addition, they have a something fun to wait for each day.

There is nothing worse than coming home from work and finding chewed up items laying all over the house. This is a common issue for the owners of dogs. Boredom, anxiety and separation issues are all causes of the problem. The best way to train the canine to behave better is to purchase treats for them to nibble on. Each time the animal has something in their mouth that they should not have, simply take it away and tell them no.

Chasing people and vehicles is a problem that many pet owners experience with their pets. The results to such behavior could be deadly. The best way to reduce this is to use leash training. Take the animal out on a leash each time they go outside. When they go after something gently pull back and tell them no. Eventually the behavior will stop.

A jumping pet is never any fun. Nothing is worse than being knocked over when carrying things in the house. Stop this problem by teaching the animal to stay and sit. Use treats if necessary to reinforce the habit. Keep small nibbles in a pocket or pouch and give them to the canine each time they obey an order or command.

dog training advice – dog training secrets is a vital tool in making a pet behave properly. Be consistent with the teaching and do not be harsh with commands. In a short amount of time, the problems will stop and the canine will be pleasant to have around.

Dog training – dog behavior go hand in hand.

Settling a puppy into their new home is a very exciting experience for all and with little planning things will go smoothly or as smoothly as they can with a new puppy.

One of the things you need to give some thoughts is the equipment you will need for the little one:

A new puppy will need a safe and secure place to sleep and placing a ticking clock near their bed will calm them when they are in their bed because it is like their mothers heartbeat.

It is necessary to have a supply of toys that they can chew on and play with. Puppies love old stuffed toys and these can be bought cheaply from a recycle shop or garage sale.

The chewing toys are really quite important. More so than many dog lovers actually realize. The reason is the following: Your puppy will grow his teeth and naturally, he is going to want to chew. Now the choice is yours, should it be chewing toys or furniture?

Of course, your puppy will also need to eat and to drink. So food and drinking dishes will be needed. Just get one of each. They do not need to be fancy, but practical. Also get some puppy dog food and milk.

Furthermore, you will want to take your dog for walks, so you will inevitably need both a collar and a leash. Once you have those you can gradually start your dog training.

Additionally, if you choose to crate train your dog, you will not get around getting a create either. Moreover, you might also want to consider buying a few warm clothes if you live in a cold climate.

One of the most important things one needs for a new puppy is love and attention. If you give a puppy the attention and training they need then they will repay you with unconditional love tenfold.

Who hasn’t heard the saying that old dogs cannot be taught new tricks? Well, I do not necessarily agree with this statement 100%.

In terms of difficulty, training older dogs does not differ too much from training puppies. However, when training older dogs you have to be conscious of the fact that you need to handle them differently than you would handle the little ones.

A lot of people would testify that training older dogs is, in fact, easier because of a number of reasons:

Older dogs have learned the meaning of the word “no”; older dogs are less energetic and calmer; and, older dogs understand dominance so he’d be more susceptible to learning through your guidance and leadership.

So when the big day comes, you will bring your old dog home for the first time. Now, you need to toilet train him. He will not know where he is allowed to go to the bathroom, so it is up to you to show him. Also bear in mind that his system might be a little bit upset from traveling, so be ready.

Before bringing your dog into the house, show him his bathroom area. Stay here until he has done his business. Beware: This might take some time. Do not expect him to do it immediately. Just try and stay calm and relaxed and wait. When he does do it, positively reinforce this behavior with a treat. This should motivate him and help him to remember this area faster.

And then in you go: Bring him inside and let him check out the house. And always remember that just because he understands where his toilet is, he might not be able to tell you when he needs to go.

Be sure to look for signs and take him out. Do not forget to praise him. Once his system’s gone back to normal, you may schedule his trips to the bathroom area as you would to a puppy: Once in the morning, every after meals, after playtime, and before bed at night.

Each time you bring him outside and he does his business, praise him. And should accidents ever happen, just clean it up and continue as planned. Do NOT punish him.

There probably isn’t a dog lover on the face of this earth who wouldn’t want his dog to listen to his commands. Fortunately, this can be accomplished rather easily. You can be quite successful if you follow a few basic strategies on how to begin and what to do.

To get you started off, here are a few training tips that might help you:

1. Ideally, in the beginning, you should limit the people who train your dog to just one: you. This way your dog will get used to you giving him commands faster, and you avoid confusing your dog by several people giving him the same command in various different ways.

You should also give out your commands in consistent terms for your dog to remember and follow.

2. It is important for your dog to know that you are the boss. Put simply: let him know that you, and only you, are the pack leader. Keep in mind that dogs are pack animals, and they will intuitively look to their leader if in doubt.

One of the things that characterize a pack leader is being responsible for food supply. Hence, in the eyes of your dog, you can strengthen your position as pack leader by eating before he does.

3. You need to use positive reinforcements. You should reward good behavior and ignore unwanted behavior. Refrain from punishing your dog for disobedience. Instead, show him that good behavior would earn him treats and praises while bad behavior will get him none. Using positive reinforcements will also strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

4. Sometimes dog training is not an easy task. You certainly have to be both persistent and consistent. Getting upset at your dog will not speed up the process. Try to stay calm and keep working at the commands patiently. Know that the process will take time and that your dog most likely will not learn the commands overnight.

Yes, it is true… dog training may not be super, super easy. But always keep in mind how much better your life -and that of your dog- will be once you have trained him properly.

A happy dog is a well trained dog and just choosing to make this happen is a step in the right direction! Too many dogs are left untrained and jump on everyone, chew end tables and bark all night! Your dog will be better off once trained and of course, so will you. So read on for some fabulous ideas on how to make the job of training your dog a little less hectic!

Anxious dogs might benefit from having music played when you leave. Classical music is proven to be soothing for a variety of species, and dogs are no exception. Calm, soothing classical music played at a mellow volume might be a benefit to your dog and keep the house from being silent while you’re gone.

Once your dog begins to master the commands you are giving him, change locations. Train him in a different room of the house, on your driveway, midway on your walk, in the park. Each new location offers new distractions. He might have trouble initially offering the behaviors, but soon he’ll be able to ignore the distractions, and he will be able to focus more on listening to your commands.

Your dog is the product of many generations of domestication and breeding. If you have a purebred or mixed dog, tailor your training efforts to your dog’s personality. For example, herding dogs may need more work to release energy that would otherwise go to herding efforts to make something like taking leashed walks easier.

It is important to keep your dog training sessions short, it is better to have three ten minute sessions than one thirty minute session. Your dog is not a human and they will tend to lose interest quickly, by making sessions shorter you will make more progress in your training efforts.

Some training techniques advise that you give your dog a treat as a reward for good performance. This is a great method, but be sure you’re not giving your dog a treat every time they perform the task. If you do, they come to expect the treat each time and when you stop with the treats, the obedience stops as well. Instead give the dog a treat randomly so that they don’t begin to expect when they get a treat.

If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, an easy way to train them out of it is to avoid giving them attention immediately before and after you leave. It may seem mean to the dog if you don’t say goodbye before you leave, but those long goodbye cuddles just give the dog a chance to get worked up.

To keep your dog from biting at furniture or people, or scratching at doors, spray him or her with a bottle of water. This will teach your dog that there are certain behaviors that are unacceptable. Soon your dog will stop these behaviors and you’ll have a playful yet obedient dog.

If you are tired of finding that your new pair of shoes has become a chewed up drool-covered dog toy, it is probably time to invest in chew toys. Chew toys are a great way for dogs to fulfill their urge to chew, while not ruining your things. For an even more enticing chew toy, buy one that you fill with peanut butter or treats, which will make him more likely to choose the toy over your shoes.

When you are training your dog, do not blame it for bad behavior if it is sick. You should never force a dog to do obedience training when it is not feeling well. Take your dog to the vet to see what is making it sick, and put off the training until it is doing better.

The advice in this article is meant to help you improve your dog’s training. A dog’s behavior is reflective of its owner’s ability (and willingness) to control it. Although it may be hard to be strict on your furry little friend, you both will benefit from it at the end.

Dog owners frequently ask how long it takes to cure separation anxiety in dogs and while it’s an an understandable question question, unfortunately it doesn’t have an easy answer. In today’s high speed society, we’re all looking for an instant fix, but when it comes to your dog’s behaviour problems, time and patience is the best cure.

You see, how quickly or slowly a dog deals with their separation anxiety depends upon how serious the symptoms are, the individual personality of the dog and the opportunities it gets for learning new behaviour. All these different variables means that there’s no sure time frame you can put to this problem, which is basically a positive thing.

Now I realise that everyone wants the symptoms of separation anxiety in dogs to go away as soon as possible, but having short time frames often results in people putting themselves under unwarranted pressure. This can have an unfavorable effect on the situation, making dog owners more anxious and less patient with their dogs. If they add further pressure to that by badgering themselves with questions like “why hasn’t this worked yet”, they are more likely to end up feeling a failure, or deciding that that the training program does not work and giving up before they get the results they are looking for.

Time Pressure Could Raise Your Stress and Your Dog’s Anxiousness

Another disadvantage of putting yourself under time pressure is that your pooch will be aware of your worries as they’re very sensitive to our moods and feelings. They’ll sometimes take their lead from what we are feeling also, which means that if they sense you are stressed it will add to their own anxiousness and the result will be that it takes longer to resolve the problem.

Basically, the best approach once you have found a good dog separation anxiety training program to follow is to relax and accept that there’s no pressure, and instead trust that it’ll work. Ironically, it may help reduce the training time necessary.

Learning Does not Happen in a Straight Line

Another fact about learning new behaviour or skills worth mentioning is that while training needs to be regular and consistent, improvement seldom happens in a continuously growing upwards curve (ask any sportsman or coach), instead you tend to get large jumps forward followed by a plateau where you often feel you are getting nowhere. Your dog’s anxiety training could develop in the same way, so do not give up when you hit a plateau stage, as you might be about to get one of those massive steps ahead.

A good tip is to keep a list of all the anxiety difficulties you want to deal with and make a note of your progress each week, however small, because when you are feeling de-motivated it will be a great reminder of how far you have progressed. Keep up your training plan and you will see results so long as you are consistent and persistent in your training, and give your dog the right messages. I’ve heard many, many stories of dog owners who have used training to get rid of their dog’s anxiety problems and in the process gained a much happier and stress free life for themselves and their dogs.

Weimaraner training, just like training other dog breeds, is often linked to numerous behavior issues like increased barking, jumping and biting. Why it’s associated? Simply because these undesired behaviors could be prevented and got rid of through teaching your dog with what’s acceptable and not.

Aside from the behavior issues already mentioned, there’s one more issue that can significantly be affected by weimaraner training – it’s separation anxiety. Popular among weimaraners as well as other domesticated dogs, canine separation anxiety or CSA is a condition wherein a dog that is separated from its owner exhibits distressed symptoms like barking, howling, frequent urinating or defecating, damaging furniture, frantic pacing and biting windows or doors where the human owner was last spotted.

Aside from separation to the owner, CSA also crops up when the dog is crated for longer durations, change in routine or daily schedule, moving to a new home even with the owner, often left alone, being separated from the mother and littermates at a young age and frightening experience specially when alone. Lack of socialization, exercise and appropriate training are also factors that contribute to the occurrence of separation anxiety.

So this is where weimaraner training comes in. Puppies must be placed at their permanent homes at eight weeks of age to give them time to socialize with the mother and other puppies in the litter. When placed or transferred to a new home, socialization helps them get accustomed to the new atmosphere they are into. In addition, socialization also prevents other behavior issues like aggression from developing.

Exercise and training are to some extent associated with each other. When you exercise your weimaraner, it is more likely that you are training it to walk correctly, to recover ball or stick, to avoid distractions and many others. On the other hand, when training your beloved pet, you oftentimes require it to run, walk and just move around thus the active lifestyle. At the same time, training and exercise can keep any dog mentally busy and physically tired thus he’s less likely to feel and worry about your absence.

To eliminate your dog’s separation anxiety, practice gradual departures. Get ready as if you’re leaving the house, then go to the door but do not go anywhere. Repeat the process for a few days to decrease your pet’s excitement at the same time disassociate the habit of going to the door to actually leaving the house. Then go just outside the door for a few seconds and return before he starts barking. Gradually increase the time of you being outside until he gets used to you being out and away for a few hours.

Before you leave the house and during your arrival, it also helps to not make a fuss about it. No tearful goodbyes and grand “mommy’s home” greetings. If he remains calm upon your arrival, wait for a few seconds before patting or rewarding him for being good. If he jumps or barks the moment he sees you at the door, it is advisable to ignore him to let him know that the behaviors he exhibited are inappropriate and will not make him earn rewards.

It may take a while to address this issue but with weimaraner training which includes behavior adjustment and physical and mental stimulation, canine separation anxiety is not impossible to eliminate at all.

If you have the problem with your dog constantly barking all you need to do is to know some of the secrets that are out in the animal world about dog training. These secrets will help you make your sweet little pooch learn how to control his barking. Again the main secret lies with you as the owner, you need to understand why your dog keeps barking. Whether its reaction to someone or something or a certain noise or even voice that sets them off. Once you understand what it is that is making them bark, it is much easier to direct your training and get the behavior corrected.Dog Training

First thing that you will need to do is getting the right amount of exercise. Many owners just don’t seem to get how important it is to give their dog exercise on a daily basis. The fact is, we known this is one of the best to handle barking issues for many years. There are very few dogs that this technique will not work on, many times just the everyday stress of a dog’s life is enough to make them bark continually.

Basically, dogs get worked up about different things and sometimes, just like us humans exercise will help them work through their issues. All dogs even “toy” or “lap” dogs need some form of exercise so they can feel calm and not be so stressed out. Usually, with the proper exercise routine your dog can relax more often and the constant barking will quit.

If excersice does seem to help you can try what is known as an aversion method. You do this by simply creating an unussual noise, this typically will stop your dog in their tracks and have them realize that what they are doing is bad. A good tool would be a can half-way full of coins, so when you shake it, the change makes a sound. This makes a dog stand at attention, so to speak.

Another method is the physical correction method. No, it is NOT the least bit inhumane, violent or painful. When your dog barks, meet them at their level, firmly wrap one or both of your hands around the snout (without shaking it), and repeat a corrective command. I use “Shhh” or a repeated “Uh uh uh uh.”

The idea is to hold on not only until they stop making noise, but also until they stop resisting the placement of your hand by jerking back or wriggling away. This method is effective also because it asserts your dominant role in the process.

Dog barking can drive you insane if left unchecked, there are many other ways to control this behavior too, but try these secrets first. If you don’t meet with success, you can find many more just by following our program. Dog Barking

Remember the most important thing is consistency when it comes to controlling dog barking behavior, because it will take time to get your dog to understand that their barking is no longer going to be allowed.

Bark collars can frequently be an effective and valuable tool for dealing with problem barking. In this article, I’ll explain three of the most characteristic questions I’m asked when customers are considering the purchase of a bark control collar.

Are bark collars humane?

This is the number one question I’m asked. Rest assured, bark collars are both safe and humane.

There are many types of collars (Aboistop/Spray Collars, Ultrasonic Collars and shock bark collars). For the sake of this write up, I’ll focus on static shock collars collars since most of the concern about safety and humaneness seems to center on this sort of collar.

Static Collars work by delivering a static shock correction to your dog when he starts barking. The bark is recognized by the collar through your dog’s vibrating vocal chords, a microphone that detects the sound of your dog’s bark, or some combination of both.

The mild shock given is akin to the shock you experience when you scuff your socks on carpeting and touch a metal item (or sometimes a person!), or if you’ve by any chance stuck your tongue on a 9 volt battery, then you have a good idea how a shock collar feels. Surprising? Yes. Distressing? No.

Used correctly and with consistent training, shock collars can be an efficient, humane way to constrain needless or annoyance barking.

What sort of collar is best?

This issue is a very individual one and as a matter of fact depends on your pup.

Considerable strides have been made in the evolution of training collars, and there are a wide variety of collars to decide from dependent on your individual circumstances.

A few things to anticipate when purchasing a bark collar:

Your dog’s age: Your dog should be at least 6 months old when contemplating any type of training collar or tool.

Your dog’s size & weight: When comparing bark collars, make sure you take into consideration your dog’s weight and neck measurement. A bark collar designed for little to medium dogs won’t be as efficient for a large or stubborn dog. A straightforward way to measure your dog’s neck measurement is to take a piece of twine or string, and encircle it around your dog’s neck, the way a collar would fit. Then, measure the length of the string. Of course, you can also measure your dog’s existing collar to get an accurate size.

Your dog’s disposition: Consider carefully your dog’s personality. Is he/she essentially easy to train? Or, is he a bit more on the stubborn side? A really timid dog may react better to a spray collar or Ultrasonic System. Similarly, a tenacious dog will in all probability react preferably to a shock collar expressly created for big dogs.

Do bark control collars work for all dogs?

While the achievement ratio with bark collars is considerably high, lamentably, they won’t work for every dog. The main key to a favorable outcome is regular training. By picking the bark collar most suitable for your dog’s age and disposition, and using regular teaching, your chances of eliminating excessive or problem barking advances greatly.
