Settling a puppy into their new home is a very exciting experience for all and with little planning things will go smoothly or as smoothly as they can with a new puppy.

One of the things you need to give some thoughts is the equipment you will need for the little one:

A new puppy will need a safe and secure place to sleep and placing a ticking clock near their bed will calm them when they are in their bed because it is like their mothers heartbeat.

It is necessary to have a supply of toys that they can chew on and play with. Puppies love old stuffed toys and these can be bought cheaply from a recycle shop or garage sale.

The chewing toys are really quite important. More so than many dog lovers actually realize. The reason is the following: Your puppy will grow his teeth and naturally, he is going to want to chew. Now the choice is yours, should it be chewing toys or furniture?

Of course, your puppy will also need to eat and to drink. So food and drinking dishes will be needed. Just get one of each. They do not need to be fancy, but practical. Also get some puppy dog food and milk.

Furthermore, you will want to take your dog for walks, so you will inevitably need both a collar and a leash. Once you have those you can gradually start your dog training.

Additionally, if you choose to crate train your dog, you will not get around getting a create either. Moreover, you might also want to consider buying a few warm clothes if you live in a cold climate.

One of the most important things one needs for a new puppy is love and attention. If you give a puppy the attention and training they need then they will repay you with unconditional love tenfold.

Who hasn’t heard the saying that old dogs cannot be taught new tricks? Well, I do not necessarily agree with this statement 100%.

In terms of difficulty, training older dogs does not differ too much from training puppies. However, when training older dogs you have to be conscious of the fact that you need to handle them differently than you would handle the little ones.

A lot of people would testify that training older dogs is, in fact, easier because of a number of reasons:

Older dogs have learned the meaning of the word “no”; older dogs are less energetic and calmer; and, older dogs understand dominance so he’d be more susceptible to learning through your guidance and leadership.

So when the big day comes, you will bring your old dog home for the first time. Now, you need to toilet train him. He will not know where he is allowed to go to the bathroom, so it is up to you to show him. Also bear in mind that his system might be a little bit upset from traveling, so be ready.

Before bringing your dog into the house, show him his bathroom area. Stay here until he has done his business. Beware: This might take some time. Do not expect him to do it immediately. Just try and stay calm and relaxed and wait. When he does do it, positively reinforce this behavior with a treat. This should motivate him and help him to remember this area faster.

And then in you go: Bring him inside and let him check out the house. And always remember that just because he understands where his toilet is, he might not be able to tell you when he needs to go.

Be sure to look for signs and take him out. Do not forget to praise him. Once his system’s gone back to normal, you may schedule his trips to the bathroom area as you would to a puppy: Once in the morning, every after meals, after playtime, and before bed at night.

Each time you bring him outside and he does his business, praise him. And should accidents ever happen, just clean it up and continue as planned. Do NOT punish him.

There probably isn’t a dog lover on the face of this earth who wouldn’t want his dog to listen to his commands. Fortunately, this can be accomplished rather easily. You can be quite successful if you follow a few basic strategies on how to begin and what to do.

To get you started off, here are a few training tips that might help you:

1. Ideally, in the beginning, you should limit the people who train your dog to just one: you. This way your dog will get used to you giving him commands faster, and you avoid confusing your dog by several people giving him the same command in various different ways.

You should also give out your commands in consistent terms for your dog to remember and follow.

2. It is important for your dog to know that you are the boss. Put simply: let him know that you, and only you, are the pack leader. Keep in mind that dogs are pack animals, and they will intuitively look to their leader if in doubt.

One of the things that characterize a pack leader is being responsible for food supply. Hence, in the eyes of your dog, you can strengthen your position as pack leader by eating before he does.

3. You need to use positive reinforcements. You should reward good behavior and ignore unwanted behavior. Refrain from punishing your dog for disobedience. Instead, show him that good behavior would earn him treats and praises while bad behavior will get him none. Using positive reinforcements will also strengthen the bond between you and your dog.

4. Sometimes dog training is not an easy task. You certainly have to be both persistent and consistent. Getting upset at your dog will not speed up the process. Try to stay calm and keep working at the commands patiently. Know that the process will take time and that your dog most likely will not learn the commands overnight.

Yes, it is true… dog training may not be super, super easy. But always keep in mind how much better your life -and that of your dog- will be once you have trained him properly.

Dogs(Canis lupus familiaris) are usually adopted for so many reasons. 1 could possibly be for protection or it might be guards in the night. Some would make them as a best friend or someone who can be talked to but of all these, there’s one main reason why folks desire to have a dog, and that’s because us individuals need them. Not because they can defend us from danger but they are recognized nowadays as a part of the family.

Since dogs are treated as part of the family these days, they’re also given balanced care and love. So when dogs and pets nowadays get colds or become ill, they are delivered to the nearest veterinarian in the city. Sickness and colds are just some of the possible illness a dog can get. Some can really hurt the dog or even us owners through these diseases that are really contagious. And these diseases are known as mange in dog.

Mange in Dog Signs and Symptoms

The concept of mange in dog is just the cover of the box. Inside will be the real mean thing. Mange in dog are often identified through the red spots that could be found in the skin. Yet another factor that’s very obvious if your dog has this disease could be the frequent itching in their skins until the hairs fall apart and leave a scar in your dog’s skin.

Mange in Dog Kinds and Sorts

Demodectic Mange in Dog

There are actually 3 varieties of mange in dog that could be found. 1 is the demodectic mange in dog which is also known as demodicosis or red mange in dog and is caused by Demodex canis, a quite tiny mite that can’t be seen without having the aid of the microscope. This kind of mange in dog seriously attacks dog with really low immune systems like elderly dogs and puppies from 3 months old up to 1 year old. Puppies usually get these mites from their mother. Nevertheless, this type of mange in dog is not that contagious to humans but these requirements veterinary action as soon as possible. Medicated shampoo and application of insecticide is among the recommended home remedy.

Sarcoptic Mange in Dog

This type of illness is also referred to as scabies, a very tiny burrowing mite and is actually a really contagious disease in their world. They burrow their way through the dog’s skin and lay their eggs there, giving the dog a really itchy effect in its skin. Eggs that are burrowed will just take days to hatch and gives the hatchlings less than 3 weeks to lay their own eggs. Damaged skin could take up to weeks or even months to recover based on how massive the illness is already. Frequent bathing is suggested to relieve the irritated skin.

Cheyletiella Mange in Dog

Another name for this kind of disease is the walking dandruff, a quite easy to identify illness because of the dandruff dusting that may be discovered over the dog’s back, neck and head. This type of disease is highly contagious, however, they will only last for a later time following leaving its host.

Dogs are generally loved and cared. So we should take care of them and let’s keep them away from mange in dog and enable them enjoy their life to the fullest!

Dog training commands should be short, concise and enunciated clearly if your dog is going to respond to it. Some dog handlers train their dogs in French or German. Dog training commands are designed to be comprehensible to the dog in order for it to respond favorably.

Some dog owners are delighted when their dogs exhibit tricks. You can train your dog to do several tricks such as shaking a stranger’s hand if you want to. Dogs that perform tricks endear themselves fast to people around.

Teaching your dogs how to perform tricks keeps it busy. You may decide to train your dog for the purpose of entertainment just as circus dog owners do. Whatever reason you have for training your dog to perform tricks, ensure that you don’t put it under any undue pressure.

Dogs are overly intelligent creatures with the ability to learn a command in any language. Dogs cannot be hindered in languages and can respond as excellently to a command in Sweden as to a command in English.

Much outrage has been expressed over the manufacture of the electronic collar because it perceived by some as an inappropriate tool for training dogs. The electronic collar is called remote dog training by its manufacturers and is used to train a dog from a considerable distance. The currents that an electronic collar releases are not lethal to the dog.

Prong or pinch collar is a dog training device that helps to put a dog in check in order to prevent it from acting in a way that you don’t like. The prong collar consists of metal inks that fit together by connecting teeth which point upwards towards the dog’s neck. The prong collar basically pokes the dog into action.

The electronic collar has been likened to the tens unit tool of a chiropractor which is not used to cause pain but to aid it. The electronic collar can be used to get a dog up on its feet if it has been dragging it around too much. You can use an electronic collar to direct your dog’s attention to you in the process of especially if it is deaf.

In training your dog, you should endeavor to look at everything from the dog’s perspective and not your own. Understanding how your dog thinks and acts enables you to train it successfully. Don’t be cruel in giving a dog confusing commands just to see how it will act…that will only render your dogs useless in responding to your commands.

Don’t expect your dog to immediately jump to obey your every command especially if they are new to them. You should realize that your dog needs adequate time to get used to the commands you are teaching it. Getting impatient with your dog each time you fail to get it to respond will only make it tensed up during training.

“And at this time I want to invite you to get your No cost Immediate access to terrific dog house training when you stop by http://www.DogHouseTraining.org – From Michael Kenssington – The Dog House Training Guy along with the Dog Training Network.”

Aging has its advantages, like having more experience, having family and often having fewer financial concerns, but it also brings other problems with it as well, normally health problems. One of the health problems that older people worry about is their eyesight.

Most people like to be independent, but blindness causes you to be dependent, particularly if you go blind whilst you are older. At least whilst you are younger, you have a long time to learn how to deal with it.

There are several ways that you can lose your sight while you become older but one that effects 10% of those over 65 and 30% of those over 75 years is macular degeneration. It is often referred to as age-related macular degeneration, ARMD or just AMD because it tends to affect those people who are over 50 years of age.

However, macular degeneration only affects the centre 2.1% of your field of vision, so it is very rare for ARMD to become the cause of complete blindness. The problem is that that 2.1%, centre field of vision is extremely important for recognizing people and for reading.

So what can you do about it, if you get ARMD? One choice would be to buy a guide dog, a ‘blind dog’, as they say in the UK or a ‘seeing eye dog’ as they say in America. A guide dog will help prevent you from bumping into things, which you might well do if you lose your central field of vision.

Most registered blind individuals are not totally blind. Some are worse off than others but sufferers of ARMD normally retain 97.9% of their field of vision, which is the peripheral vision. A guide dog would cover the remainder for you.

Guide dogs are taught as puppies so they will stay with their blind friends for seven or eight years or more This allows the dog and the owner to build up a wonderful relationship, as all people do with their dogs. However, the rapport of a blind person with a guide dog though is extra-special. The dog knows that it is being depended upon for its master’ safety.

If you make a decision to go down the road of getting a guide dog, the best place to begin is your national association for the blind, the address of which you can find either at your physician’s, in Yellow Pages or on the Internet. Some countries’ organizations will charge you for providing a guide dog and others will subsidize your acquiring a guide dog and its training.

It would be a good idea to arrange a guide dog as soon as you are diagnosed with a disease that threatens your eyesight because that will give you more time to get to know and select a puppy as your future companion.

If you are lucky and your doctor saves your eyesight, you have lost nothing and you have gained a wonderful, intelligent friend, but if the worst comes to the worst, you will have an invaluable, seeing, protective, wonderful, intelligent friend. You cannot lose.

Never punish a dog when it responds to a recall command because if you do, it will assume that each time you call it, it will get a punishment and may fail to respond the next time you call it. If your dog is exhibiting an undesirable behavior, go over to it and punish it. Dogs learn by associating their actions to yours.

Dogs are non-verbal creatures while human beings are verbal creatures. Dogs basically communicate what they feel by wagging their tails, moaning, whining, barking or biting. Humans need to learn how to tell their dogs what they want through both verbal and non verbal language.

Make sure that you get all the members of your household involved in the dog training session so that they too will be able to exercise some form of authority and control over your dog too. If you are the only person your dog listens to, when you are away, other people at home will not to be able to exert some form of control over it and that can cause problems.

A dog can send out a variety of signals to its handler and it is up to the handler to receive and interpret those signals properly. Misreading the signals that your dog sends to you during its training can bungle the training up. A dog can signal non-verbally to you that it is unsure, afraid, tired or nervous.

Make sure that your dog knows when it has appropriately responded to your command by rewarding it. Dogs need to be rewarded for good behavior in order to encourage it. Treats are put in place especially to help a handler reward the dog for good behavior.

Socialization training classes are especially good for dogs that have poor socialization skills. Dogs that are unable to socialize can learn to loosen up in a socialization class offered during dog training sessions. At dog training sessions, your dog mingles with other dogs and learns a lot in the process.

To effectively train your dog, you need to know what motivates it. Each dog has a particular reason for doing something and therein lays its language. It is vital that you understand your dog’s language if you are to communicate with its effectively.

Dog commands range from owner to owner. A dog may be taught to heel or to sit. Basic dog commands usually include sit, down, stay, recall and close.

Misreading the signals that your dog sends to you during its training can bungle the training up. A dog can signal non-verbally to you that it is unsure, afraid, tired or nervous.

Part of training your dog is to let it know when it has done something wrong. You use consistent words to let your dog know when it was blundered such as ‘try again’ or oh-oh. Make sure that your dog knows when it has done right or wrong.

Have you considered switching to hypoallergenic dog food? Do you know exactly what signs or symptoms to look for to find out should your family dog needs a change? Find out more how to possibly make your pet dog much healthier as well as happier today.

Quite a few pet owners switch their own dog’s diet regime to hypoallergenic dog food as a preventive measure to combat possible allergies. Exactly what can your dog be allergic to? Contrary to popular belief, similar to in men and women, allergies can be to just about anything. For instance the three main categories of allergies in pets are food allergies, airborne allergies and contact allergies. This simply means that dogs are frequently allergic to things that they eat, things they breathe in and things they come in to contact with.

Hypoallergenic dog food deals with food based allergies. They might additionally possess some ingredients that help with various other allergies such as maintaining a healthy coat of fur, or encouraging healthy skin.

Just what signs and symptoms should you look for? Some of the common signs and symptoms you have to be on the lookout for include things like mild problems such as loss of appetite, irritated stomach, runny nose, sneezing, irritated skin, watery eyes, problems with their own breathing and stomach problems. Some more key signs and symptoms include itching and scratching, skin irritations, diarrhea and vomiting.

You now are able to do two things. When you have recognized these types of signs or symptoms it’s really a good idea to start them on a hypoallergenic food diet regime instantly. Second of all, you can also arrange a consultation with their vet to even further examine whatever they could possibly be allergic to. There are various allergies that may be discovered. Hypoallergenic dog food is an effective safety measure, but even still, you may want to know precisely what you will be controlling your dog from eating or even coming in to contact with.

Remember when you are going to your animal medical practitioner you ought to go as prepared as feasible. Create a list of all of the signs your dog has shown you. When possible, narrow this down to a time frame when your pet begun exhibiting the indicators. Also try to let your own vet know anytime there was a spike in the signs and symptoms (when they demonstrate far more or significantly less symptoms than usual). If you believe you know what is actually bothering your dog, let the vet know. Additionally, if you have already put your dog on a hypoallergenic dog food diet let your own veterinarian know that and also when that occurred and any kind of improvements since that time.

One of the things we cannot stress enough is not to simply ignore the symptoms. A number of people are convinced just about all pet dogs itch and scratch and sneeze. They also believe that some of the more severe signs such as diarrhea as well as vomiting are not an underlying cause for concern – but they truly are. This is often something you should be aware of and take serious notice. These signs or symptoms will not be clues that you’ve got a normal pet dog, but symptoms of a quite possibly greater issue at hand.

I think you’ll now possess an improved idea if your puppy needs hypoallergenic dog food.
