Us dog lovers are not usually willing to admit that our sweet baby could ever do anything that someone else would object to, not our dog. So, something like barking all night and keeping the neighborhood wide awake is completely out of the question. Yet there are times when some unknown monster starts the activity and unless you go out there to tend to the matter it will last all night. This could be a really good time to consider buying one of those Bark Collars.

Before spending money, consider some other issues that might be a solution. You could simply bring the dog indoors and try to make it stop barking, which could take the rest of the night. Besides, all that noise is now in your house and this might make the neighbors happy, but you are not getting your sleep.

Many things can prompt a dog to start barking for no apparent reason, so it does not have to be some monster, real or imagined. Simple hunger can be the reason for getting your attention to feed them. Or they might be thirsty, so make sure they have plenty of water. And many times a dog simply has too much energy pent up from laying around all day waiting for the owners to get home, and now it is time to get the humans to play.

Having done your homework and making sure your dog has plenty of food, water and exercise, and all else has failed, there are training aids available which are designed to help in solving this problem.

Most people think of this type of bark collar which is the static electric shock anti bark collar. The word to notice here is the word static, meaning it delivers a shock like the kind you get when you walk across the room and get shocked when you flip the light switch. It might sting, but it is not known to be deadly. However, when shopping for this kind of training aid, look for one that is internationally accepted. Some of them are not up to world wide regulations.

Another type of bark collar is the sonic anti bark which, of course, makes use of sound waves to distract your dog from barking. Some of these units are actually out of the range of our human hearing, but others might only claim something like being mostly out of the range. Find out before you purchase.

Here is an interesting idea in bark control called the citronella spray collar. This one sprays citronella when the dog barks and if you like the smell of citronella it might be the one you would rather use.

What you need to keep in mind is that none of these products are recommended for constant use. There are the issues of having to recharge them or replace the batteries, not to mention that they can become damaged if left unattended while you are away at work. Keeping this in mind your canine vocal problems might be remedied by the use of one of the models of bark collars.

Clicker training is among the most fulfilling and quickest systems for teaching your pet. Considering that clicker training employs positive reinforcement, your dog, puppy or pet will swiftly understand the behavior you are instructing. Here are a handful of points you need to comprehend about clicker training.

Clicker training consist of several basics including positive reinforcement, clicker conditioning, often called charging the clicker, accurate timing and marking and repeating. It’s by means of these principles that one could rapidly start teaching your dog with a clicker with excellent results.

Positive reinforcement signifies that you’re treating your puppy once they perform a routine or motion you want them to execute. This really is dissimilar compared to luring or bribing your puppy to perform a particular activity. Using positive reinforcement with clicker training, we are really making it possible for the dog to execute the action by themselves, and then click and treating them when they do it the right way. Positive reinforcement is faster and easier than correction based teaching where we are trying to cease the dog from carrying out something, like jumping or nipping. An example of positive reinforcement may be when a canine sits down automatically when we are teaching a “sit” order and we encourage them for that action.

Clicker charging is the method of teaching your dog or puppy the sound of clicker and that a reward will be given at the sound of the click. The first few training sessions may require you to charge the clicker, but after the third or fourth session it may not be necessory. To charge the clicker you simply click the clicker and then give a treat to the dog. Do this 10-15 times until the clicking sounds triggers your dog to look for the treat. Once the dog understands that the sound of the clicker “marks” when they will receive a treat the training can begin.

Proper timing is critical with clicker training. In order to tie in positive reinforcement with the clicker, we need to time the click, or “mark” the behavior. For instance, when teaching the “sit” command we will click the moment the dog is sitting. This means the second their rear end touch the ground, you click. This “marks” the behavior and you would then immediately treat. If you click a second or two later the dog may not know what they did. If you treat and then click, you are reinforcing the wrong behavior. So, timing is everything. Again, in this instance, we are allowing the dog to sit on their own, then we are marking the behavior with a click and then treating.

Repetition and ongoing training will help you clicker train your dog with more accomplishment. This permits your puppy to easily understand and start learning on their own precisely what conduct you want them to execute. You can then begin combining behaviors. For instance, you might start teaching a sit behavior. After understanding the sit order, you would move on to the “lay down” command going from the sit. You can then command the puppy to sit, then lay down and click.

Once you master these four main concepts of clicker training it is easier to begin teach other types of behaviors and actions. More complicated behaviors can be chained or bundled together and the use of target training can be introduced to allow your dog to focus on specific items or positioning to create a behavior. These four concept in addition to four secrets that every trainer should know can be found at the http://ClickerTrainingSystem.com website.

Dogs are smart, making them easy to train. Whether training a puppy for the first time, an adult dog new to your home, or revisiting training with your resident dog, getting back to basics is the most efficient approach to assuring you have a well-adjusted, well-behaved pet.

Those of us who have learned a second language know all too well, if you don’t use that second language regularly, you will eventually forget the language. Training your dog is the same as teaching him a second language. Without consistent reinforcement throughout the dog’s lifetime, even the smartest of dogs will forget even the best training. When this happens, it is best to go back to the basics. Training commands are a form of communication. If your dog is forgetting to listen, go right back to ground zero. Start training as if your dog has never been trained before.

For instance, if your dog is no longer coming when you give him the command, dust off the long lead and start over. Use a 40′ lead (available at your local pet or feed store). Tie knots in it at 2′ and 5′ before the end. Add a tied handle and you have your training lead. Begin by calling your dog: name and come. While saying the command, quickly begin by running backwards After about 5 feet, stop once the dog has caught up to you. Reward with a snack. Repeat a few times.

After about 5 or 10 minutes of training, do a bit of agility, play with your pup. It is very important to remain cheerful, and get excited when they perform the behavior correctly. The dogs forget the repetition. Many breeds get bored with repetitive activities such as ball chasing. So it is important to play a little bit, do about 10 minutes of training and play some more. Puppies especially have a low attention span and get tired after about an hour of training. Also, when training a dog to come, you should never ever ask the dog to come from a sit-stay command. This will contradict the stay command.

When teaching a dog the sit-stay command, hold a favorite treat out in your fingers and have the dog sit. Reward with a small piece of the treat. With the dog still in sit, make a stop hand signal and simultaneously say the word stay. Once the dog has performed the command correctly, take a few steps back to the dog to reward him with the treat. Never have the dog come to you to retrieve the treat once you have put him in a sit-stay. The simpler, the better; back to basics dog training will do the trick.

If you have lost a pet recently then you know how hard it can be, and at Pet Urns Online we are here to offer you the highest quality Pet Urns at discounted prices, we have large selection of pet urns including vase, rock, photo, and of course Dog Urns, so feel free to stop buy and check out our store.

When you gained your new pet dog, did you inquire concerning it’s woofing? I would not assume so. You go first by the size of the dog, next by the appearance of it and does it seem to like you, but I will gamble you never considered to inquire regarding barking.

A great deal can be put down to your own day to day living state of affairs. Do you need to go out to work and leave the dog by itself? That could provoke separation fear in your animal.

Maybe the animal is just basically bored which might be the reason it woofs to acquire some sort of response from someone, anybody would do.

Even whilst a dog is being reprimanded for barking it does not discriminate between different kinds of attention. He most likely doesn’t care that you are rebuking him at least you are there and you are talking to him, that’s all that is relevant.

It is not all that is important though. He has to find out that this is merely not the way to behave. He must not expect to just yap and everything will be as he wishes.

You recognize how animals in general bark at anyone who arrives at the house, not of the family unit? Your animal will usually yap at the mailman, but when he was tiny why did he start to do that? I imagine that he did it on one occasion because he didn’t know who it was and after that he thought that the mail delivery man departed once more because of him. He will have it set in his mind that he can be accountable for removing strange people.

Somehow you have to make him understand that the mail delivery man is not a threat to his household. Naturally you don’t intend to hold back his protective instincts. After all, in some instances that is why people have animals, particularly if they have to leave their home unattended during the day.

If you possessed a remote control device you have the ability to give out him a slight shock whenever the mailman came, of course you definitely would need to be home to achieve that. If you aren’t at home you should have an automatic shock collar which should just recognize that he was woofing and tell him not to, regardless of why or who he was woofing at.

It is an unfortunate thing but it seems that complaints about ceaseless dog woofing to the police force is the second most frequent report, this is second only to alarms going off.

If your own barking dog is reported continually then you are liable to get quite pricy fines and this can be painful to the money case. At the very least it can lead to stressed associations involving you and your own neighbors this may be very unpleasant and totally unnecessary.

You just have to find a way of curing this yapping trouble and perhaps acquiring one of the anti bark collars available today.

A Corgi puppy is a great pet for young and old alike. They are gentle, caring, loyal, and have great herding and guarding instincts to keep you or your child safe. Their are two separate breeds of Corgi’s; the Cardigan Corgi and the Pembroke Corgi. Whichever one you choose you will get a great friend.

Researching a good, responsible breeder is the first thing you should do. Make sure to visit the kennel you plan on purchasing your Corgi puppy from to insure it is clean. Play with the puppies for a while and see if they are well socialized and well taken care of. The adult dogs should also have a good temperament, and are a great gauge as to what the puppies will turn out like. Ask the breeder any questions you have, if it is a good breeder he should be able to answer your questions, and offer a guarantee on the puppies.

You should look for a healthy looking puppy (no runny eyes/runny nose, clean ears and skin, etc.) that is active, and likes people. Although the corgi is happy to lie by the fire, or hang out by your feet as you read a book, it is an active breed and enjoys playing ball ,Frisbee, and tug-o-war, sometimes to the point of exhaustion.

Most vets recommend that Corgi’s have x rays taken every so often to look for signs of hip dysplasia and other malformations of the joints. There have been incidences of progressive retinal atrophy, a disease in the eyes that can cause blindness, also spinal disc problems, autoimmune diseases, and cataracts can crop up in small numbers of Corgis. These are all reasons to take great care when choosing a breeder, as they will screen the adults for these problems, lowering the chances your Corgi puppy will have them.

Corgis love to eat, and weight can be an issue. Make sure to research your puppies food before feeding it to him to help prevent overfeeding. Overweight Corgis are more at risk for joint problems.

When selecting a Corgi puppy, make sure you check Justin Gordon’s excellent free guide to owning Corgi puppies, and training Corgi puppies

One of the first things you will want to do with your new puppy is to teach it not to bite This behaviour if not stopped can become an act of aggression in your adult dog, possibly leading to a situation where he would seriously injure a child, even if unintentionally.

Be Consistent

It is important that everyone trains the puppy in the same way. Teach your children to treat your puppy exactly as you do. Biting is a natural act in a puppy. It is natural for them to bite their litter mates as an act of playing and so they will want to do exactly the same with you or you children.

Act Like A Puppy

Understanding how they behave in the litter makes it much easier to stop them. One of their litter mates yelping will cause them to stop, so any time he nibbles on your fingers all you have to do is yelp just like him. He will stop biting and then you can just move your hand away. Don’t play with him for a while after he bit you. Use praise and treats when you are playing and he doesn’t bite at all.

Keep Your Training Sessions Short

It’s important that your training sessions don’t go on for too long. Puppies don’t have a long attention span. Do keep the training positive and your voice happy. Give lots of praise. Pet the puppy when he pays attention to what you are saying.

Provide Lots Of Toys

Whenever you are working on the way to train a new puppy not to bite make certain the puppy is provided with toys to bite and chew on. Should your dog bites your hand say ouch or yelp. Stay consistent in this. Should your puppy backs off let him know this pleases you.

Give Plenty Of Love And Attention

Your puppy naturally requires lots of love and attention. They also enjoy plenty of play time with the correct toys. Puppies do like playing with different textures. It’s a good idea therefore to keep plenty of different types of toys on hand. He will tend to select his favourite one. You can use this one when teaching him not to bite.

Don’t Give Your Puppy Old Shoes And Clothes

Nonetheless, do not provide your old boots and shoes or clothes to the puppy to have fun with. He has no understanding what is new and what is not. He might believe this indicates it is Acceptable to chew up all your clothing and footwear. Puppies can become confused very easily. He needs to realize that your things are not his playthings.

Stick To The Program

Ensure everybody sticks with the program. Don’t have the kids let your puppy nip or hurt them in play, this will confuse your puppy. Teach them to yelp and stop playing too. Make sure your puppy is provided rewards for good behaviour and not for bad.

Remember, it is a natural thing for puppies to bite and nip at their playmates so it takes a little time to unlearn the behaviour. No one would like a dog who is aggressive towards anyone so it is really worth putting into practice these instructions on the best way to teach a puppy not to bite.

Many people who get a dog do a poor job of researching how much responsibility is involved in owning a pet. This is especially true of people who neglect dog training.

Dogs have a natural instinct toward sociability. They’re pack animals who look to a leader, an “alpha” dog, ” to know how to behave. Good obedience training establishes the pet owner as the “alpha” dog without harshness or cruelty, so that their pet responds appropriately to other people, other pets and to the world around them.

Good dog training also should train the owner as well. Pet owners should know the proper commands to keep their animals under control, so that they can have confidence in how their pets will behave around people and other animals. This is especially important in situations where some kind of danger or hazard suddenly appears.

Good socialization is one of the key factors in puppy training. Dogs are social animals by nature, so they respond to interaction with other animals and with humans. This natural trait is what makes dog training possible. Through training dogs develop a strong understanding and trust bond with their owners, who establish their leadership roles through instruction.

However, all puppies go through a period of “stranger avoidance” between six and 12 weeks. This is a natural fear that develops as a way to keep puppies safe from predators. During this time puppies exhibit more “startle” reactions to sounds and sudden movements. These reactions keep a pup safe, but they also could interfere with establishing relationships with people. That’s why it best not to rush a puppy through these behavioral period. Let it get its bearings first.

Dog training for obedience involves the owner and puppy learning a series of basic commands. Among these are “sit, ” “stay, ” “down, ” “come, ” “heel, ” “drop it” and “leave it.” In most cases, these commands are taught with the use of food rewards such as dog food, tiny dog biscuits or small pieces of appropriate human food such as string cheese or baked or boiled chicken. Each of these commands is intended to teach a certain posture to the dog that the owner can use to control its behavior.

If a puppy is properly settled into a home, basic dog training, also known as obedience training, can begin in earnest around 12 weeks, or after a puppy has had all its vaccinations. By this time, a puppy that has been correctly socialized is ready to begin learning how to behave appropriately by following its owner’s instructions.

A dog needs his or her owner to provide discipline, patience and most importantly, love. Getting proper training for a dog as early as possible provides all these essentials for a happy life.

Dogs can become more loyal, obedient, and affectionate towards their owners through vigorous puppy training. Enroll your canine companion in some dog training Kelowna today!

1. Being to harsh with your dog and especially in its early years, will have severe consequences to the mental state of the dog. It will leave the dog feeling unwanted and unloved and it might even lead to a depression.

2. Feeding your dog excessively will threaten your dog’s health. Too many calories and too little exercise will have your dog grow fat and it will not only reduce its level of energy but also its ability and willingness to be happy.

3. Food for people is not dog food. Do not feed your dog food from the dinner table. Ask your VET what is recommended for the specific breed as every breed might require different things for optimal nutritional intake.

4. Taking your dog out for a walk every single day is a must. Go for half an hour as least one time a day. If you own a larger breed you might need to go for a walk two or three times a day to satisfy the dog’s physical needs.

5. One of the most important things when it comes to training your dog and having it use its body the way it was designed is to go play. Through a stick or a frisbee will not only be fun but it will also be a great workout for your dog.

6. Attend dog training classes to learn how to properly manage, train and get your dog obey commands. A dog needs to know who is in charge and it is important that you are that leader.

7. Making sure that you show your dog that you love it dearly is vitally important. The feeling of love can erase almost any other error you make and if you let your dog know and feel that you love it in return it will love you back unconditionally.

8. Be fair at all times and be sure to also be respectful. Your dog is a living animal and even though it might not be able to communicate what it senses in a way that you can understand don’t conclude that it doesn’t sense things.

Dog vitality and well being is very important in order to have a happy and peaceful pet. As a dog owner you should spend enough time and energy in teaching your dog and yourself the best ways to love and respect each other as you will hopefully be together for a long time.

If you ever thought about purchasing a dog as a house pet, you have to consider that there is much required from you as the pet’s owner. You can’t just think that it is enough to feed your pet, provide a home, and other necessities. It is just as important to give your canine dog puppy training. There is no need to hire a special trainer to do this but you can do all of this by yourself at your home with just a few guidelines.

* Keep in mind that physically hitting a puppy will not get you anywhere. It is important that you get respect from your dog but it is just as important that you earn it by respecting your pet as well. Doing this is very critical in the relationship building process. Hitting a dog will only cause fear, and a scared dog is not a good thing. You should have strict and consistent rules.

* Another dog puppy training tip is to give your dog a reward if he did something right. You can give dog treats or biscuits as rewards for a job well done, or a praise said in a kind tone of voice. By doing so, the dog will continue doing the right thing because he is getting something good from doing it.

Your dogs are not toys and shouldn’t be treated as such. Many dog owners mistaken their dogs for small cuddly toys and treat them in that way. Your dog isn’t there to be continuously hugged throughout the day, but just like yourself, dogs have needs that should be fulfilled. They are also unique in their moods and personalities.

Proper dog puppy training is the key to a happy and harmonious relationship between man and animal living under the same roof.

Make sure to visit Training Puppies.net for Rhodesian Ridgeback Puppies and puppy crate training.

A lot of dog owners nowadays are struggling to solve housebreaking problems. While the most effective methods are humane and gentle, some pet owners will become impatient and begin to use more drastic methods – but frustration will not make training your pet any quicker.

In order to get the behavior the dog owner wants, he/she has to find a training method that is right for the dog. It could be training through constant supervision or training with the use of housebreaking aids such as paper or cage. Although, using both also produces results.

Cage training can be very efficient, but it also comes with certain issues. Some people believe that using a cage in housebreaking or any other training in general is being inhumane and therefore should not be used on dogs. Contrary to this thought patter, cage training has been shown to be one of the most efficient and effected methods for training both dogs and puppies.

Why? First, because dogs are den dwelling creatures. For centuries dogs have been known to go to a den if they wanted warmth in cold weather or to cool of in the heat. They consider their den as their home in which they are safe from harm. Therefore a cage should feel like home for them – not a cage!

Secondly since dogs are animals which like to keep clean in their homes, they will try to keep their cages as unsoiled as possible. With this in mind, you can place your dog inside his cage and he/she will learn to control his bladder and bowel until he/she is permitted to go to his/her designated voiding area. Since puppies are still young, they should be taken out regularly and more often than an older dog since they only have a limited control over their bladder and bowel movements. Doing so will aid your pup in developing a regular potty schedule.

You can get a cage in many different styles and made from various materials. You can find cages at your pet supply stores, hardware stores, or in the pet section of some department stores. When you purchase a cage for your pet, consider their needs and consider why you are buying the cage. If you travel, consider purchasing a cage made of plastic for your dog, as wire cages will not protect them from extremes of temperature. You should also think about the size of the cage. Buying a new create when he has outgrown the old one costs a lot of money. You can easily buy a large cage for your puppy to grow into and simple block off the area of the cage that the puppy does not need, so he/she can’t go to that area to void.

Be consistent and determined when housebreaking your dog using your cage. Your housebreaking issues will soon disappear if you do this properly.
