Getting a new puppy is just the beginning of all the fun to come. There will be a few frustrating days intermingled with the over abundance of excellent ones, so don’t let these get you down. Training a new puppy takes time, patience, and consistency. Having a daily routine is the best way to get started with training, as well as remaining focused on the type of training at hand. It will be easiest for both of you if you start with one task at a time, instead of throwing a bunch of new commands his way. The following are some very basic puppy training tips.

Housebreaking: Some people are able to keep an eye on their puppy all day long, to make sure that he doesn’t make a mess in the house. This takes some careful watching for certain signs.

This generally means he is searching for a place to go to the bathroom. As soon as the pup looks like he is looking for a good spot to relieve himself, pick him up and take him outside. Remain outside until he does his business and praise him after he is finished.

People who use this method watch for signs of bathroom searching and immediately take the pup outside. As soon as his nose goes to the ground, you might only have a few seconds before he starts to leave a puddle.

Dogs don’t usually make a mess where they sleep, so this area should be relatively safe from being used as a bathroom facility. Taking the puppy out of the crate every hour to go to the bathroom outside is often very effective. It’s a good idea to not leave him in the crate for longer than two hours at a time. Once he’s done his business outside, then he can romp around the house for a bit before he is placed back in the kennel.

Chewing: Puppies enjoy trying out their new teeth on a number of items, they don’t necessarily know the difference between their toys and your shoes. This may take some time for him to figure out. Having a variety of toys placed around the house will make this type of training easier. If you catch the pup chewing on something he isn’t supposed to be chewing, then tell him no as you take it away from him. Be sure to give him one of his own toys after you’ve taken the other item away.

You will need to replace this item with a toy of his own, so he knows that chewing is okay, but only on his toys. For new puppy teeth, having a clean sock with crushed ice in it is a great chew toy. This can be kept in the freezer when not in use and provided when there seems to be an excessive amount of chewing going on.

The key to having these puppy training tips be successful is by being consistent with each process. Getting frustrated and giving up will only confuse your puppy. There is a lot of work involved in the beginning with letting him know what all the rules are, but once he has them down, he will be a very well-behaved little pup.

Learn the secrets of how to train a puppy the easy way with these simple yet highly effective puppy training tips from some of the top pros. Training a puppy just got a whole lot easier thanks to these insider secrets. Don’t reprint this exact article.

Puppy potty training may very well be one of the most difficult aspects of bringing home a new puppy. It requires vigilance and a dedication to constant supervision. It also requires a great deal of patience. No one enjoys the idea of a puppy going potty in the all the wrong places. We work hard to keep our homes clean and we do not enjoy those surprise methods.

Most of us develop a pretty good attitude about puppy potty training in the first week. Over time we can lose out patience and expect more than our puppy can deliver for us. It’s not a personal affront when your pup makes an error. We can’t expect him to get it perfect right away. He is learning, and your consistency will have a lot to do with how successful he may or may not be at his new task.

It’s best if you can keep your dog in the same room with you. If you have areas of your house that are not used frequently it becomes a tempting indoor toilet for your pup. Instead, rigging a puppy gate that keeps him from leaving your line of sight can make a huge difference when it comes to helping him become more successful.

When you keep him quite close to you the reward is also yours. He can’t sneak away and you don’t have to continuously stop what you’re doing to locate him. You are on top of the situation because you can see him. It’s much nicer to know he is not toileting or chewing on anything dangerous just because you lost your focus for a moment. A set schedule of trips to the outside potty can be very helpful. Whether you choose to take him out once every hour or you choose to set him on a natural schedule, it’s imperative that he knows the drill.

Reward him every single time he goes in the right place. Reward works much better than punishment. You should not be striking him or rubbing his nose in his mess. Instead, you should be throwing a party complete with treats every time he gets it right. If you find that he is still going in the house, make sure you nab him up in the middle of doing his business. Carry him directly outside and do not let him back in until he has finished his deal.

Throw happy parties for success regularly, give him a concrete schedule, and make sure you know where he is and what kind of behavior he is exhibiting in order to develop a strong understanding of where it is acceptable to toilet. Just because he has had a successful week doesn’t mean he is ready for the run of the house.

Remember that his health and sexual maturity can impact his training. Usually, a pup that has been well potty trained will stop having additional accidents once he has been neutered.

If you can learn the value of crate training you and your puppy will have an easier go of the potty training business. Don’t confine him to the crate for extensive periods of time, but crating him can help him learn to hold it while you’re gone.

So you have a new pet? They can be wonderful but now you have to do the fun puppy potty training. There are techniques to help you house train your pet simply. Find them out now!

What is it about puppies that makes them so irresistible? The first time you bring a puppy home, everyone rushes in excitement to greet their new family member. Then, when the new puppy has an “accident” on the rug, everybody seems to disappear. This is when you have to start training a puppy.

Toilet training your puppy can be exasperating or it can be a fun part of raising your new dog. If you know just a little bit about puppies and dogs and how to train them, you can toilet train your puppy without traumatizing either yourself or your new family member.

All dogs have certain instincts that they are born with. One of these instincts is to not soil their sleeping den. In their natural environment they will know to immediately head outdoors if they feel an urge to urinate or defecate. But they may not have that option in the confines of your house. Your puppy will show signs of anxiety before it “does its duty” in your home.

To make matters worse, the poor thing doesn’t have the ability yet to “hold it in, ” so it may run around the room whimpering and then just have to let go wherever it happens to be at the time. It is important not to punish the puppy for its mistake. It hasn’t done anything wrong. On the other hand, it is equally important to teach it that the place where it relieved itself before is not the place to relieve itself the next time!

Do not teach it by punishment. Rubbing its nose in the poo and yelling at the dog aren’t going to do any good at all. Instead, remove the waste and take it outside, where it belongs. Leave it there so the puppy can sniff out its location the next time. Clean the area indoors where the puppy relieved itself and remove all traces of odor using an appropriate cleaning solution.

Now you will have to keep an eye on your puppy and catch it before it goes, rather than after. You will easily notice the signs of distress and the times it needs to go. Take it outside as soon as it is clear that it is time. After the puppy has “done its duty, ” offer it a reward and an encouraging pat. Let it know that you, the leader of the pack, approve of its good behavior.

Teaching the puppy who is boss is as important as toilet training itself. Dogs are pack animals, which means that they either follow the pack or lead the pack. Your puppy must know from the beginning that it is living in your home and that you are the leader of the pack. You need not be a harsh leader. In fact, benevolent leadership is a far better way to lead.

Training a puppy from an early age is best for everyone. You will have a happy, well-adjusted pet and your life together will be satisfying for both of you.

Learn how to select the right Dog Bedding for your dog. Do not allow Puppy Potty Training become a time consuming or tedious affair.

Dogs are much like humans since they do enjoy interaction with nearly everyone. They are generally friendly and enjoy interaction with other animals, such as dogs and even reptiles. However, dogs are different as well. Some dogs are hostile even to other dogs. All dogs are different, just as all people are different.

If you are an animal lover, then you know the value of having several dogs, regardless of their species. This makes it very difficult to keep your house in order, and then you have the fact that your dogs will want to defend their territory. If you have ever seen a canine territorial conflict, then you know what a headache can be. We’ve all had the experience of walking the dog in the middle of the night, and watching a rival dog wander into the yard. Have you ever managed to make it back inside without the entire front of your body covered in wet grass?

This type of situation calls for dog training or training a puppy to be social. Dogs are similar to children, since they learn so easily if you take time to teach them to behave properly. Things are so much easier to learn as a child. While your dog is, a puppy is the best time to help them distinguish between friend and foe. They are trying to learn and you should take advantage of that situation early on.

If you have decided to have just one dog, then in it’s young years you need to introduce it to other dogs. This way it will understand that not all dogs are enemies. It also needs to become used to being touched. This will make it friendlier around other people, and of course will keep it from biting every hand it happens to see.

While introducing your puppy to other dogs, keep a tight grip on the leash, until you are sure they are not going to fight. Sure, this is controlling, however, your puppy needs to learn between what is right, and what is not.

Many dogs at a young age like to jump, bite, or shove. This is play to them, but you need to teach them not to do this. They will do it with each other of course, but make sure that they are not hurting one another. Remember that there is nothing more annoying than trying to watch television and having your dog jumping on you every two seconds, especially if he or she is not a lap dog.

You might find that your dog likes to bark. All dogs love to bark, it is quite natural, but it becomes a bit nerve racking if your dog is standing in the house barking at all times. You can try to distract them with a treat, or teach them to stop barking all the time. It might not work at first, and if that is the case you will need to keep trying. Perhaps you can teach them that you will provide them a treat, but only if they will stop barking. If you use this method then over time they will learn only to bark when absolutely necessary.

You can train a puppy to be quiet by placing them on their back and then yelling in their face. It may not look so nice to others; however, it is a working method of many professional dog trainers. You can use this method with rescue animals as well to teach them to be quiet.

When you train a puppy as early as possible, he or she will make a wonderful friend and companion for many years. Remember this when you are raising puppies or a dog.

Learn to select the correct Dog Bedding for your dog. Don’t allow Puppy Potty Training become a prolonged or tedious experience. Visit the Uber Article Directory to get a totally unique version of this article for reprint.

Consistency, commitment, patience and paying close attention are needed for house training your dog as well as newspaper.

A guide for training your puppy is listed below. Remember that accidents will happen even if you have a full grown dog.

Be patient and consistent when training your puppy as this training period can last a couple of weeks or more.

Set up a routine.

As with babies, puppies learn faster with normal schedules. This helps the puppy learn that there is a time for going to the bathroom, playing and eating.

For every month of age, a puppy can control their bladder for an hour. So, if the puppy is two months old, then he can control his bladder for two hours. Remember this when taking your puppy out for potty breaks. Hiring a dog walker might be necessary if you work away from the home to keep the schedule.

Your puppy should be taken outside after or during playing, after he eats or drinks and as soon as he gets up. Find a spot outside that will be the designated bathroom area. Use a leash and take him to that area. Using phrases or words like go potty while he is using the bathroom will teach him that this means go to the bathroom.

Give your puppy praise and a reward for using the bathroom outside. This needs to be done before you come back inside.

To help regulate his bathroom schedule, a regular feeding schedule should be use too. Eating three to four times a day is normal for puppies. By feeding him at the same time each day potty training him will be easier as well.

Make it easier to get through the night by picking up his dishes about two hours before going to bed. If he does happen to wake up in the middle of the night, do not freak out. If you do he may think it is playtime. Do not play or turn on a bunch of lights. Take him outside and then go back to bed.

Manage.

Watch your puppy carefully when he is in the house so he will not have an accident.

Keep your puppy near you using a six foot leash if you are not playing with or training him. Some signs that he may need to use the bathroom include scratching at the door or barking, restlessness, circling or sniffing. If you see your puppy acting like that, take him outside immediately. After he uses the bathroom, reward him with praise or a treat.

Learn to select the right Dog Bedding for your dog. Don’t allow Puppy Potty Training become a time consuming or frustrating affair. This and other unique content ‘puppy potty training’ articles are available with free reprint rights.
